Ready ... Set ... |
Even with a few interruptions I managed to get 2 bouts of sewing done. It is very satisfying seeing the stitched fabric folding up at the back of the sewing machine.
GO! |
After a trip to the park, dinner, bath & bed for Miss M I set myself up for the evening.
The movie was very enjoyable (as were the chocolates & champers *grin*) and I managed to finish my butterfly and start a mushroom on my current hand stitching project.
Thanks to Wendy for hosting us again this month. With 44 people joining in it's lucky she has a big house (*wink*).
Now, for the Christmas giveaway. I confess to being a die-hard Christmas-holic. I love everything Christmas, particularly our family traditions, although I do think the commercialism of Christmas nowadays can detract from the overall experience a bit. That doesn't stop me getting excited though!
So to celebrate the imminent arrival of the 2014 festive season, and the joy a hand stitched gift can bring, I am very excited to be giving away 1 copy of Gail Pan's 'Simply Christmas 2014' book. There are some gorgeous projects and patterns in here and hopefully you will have enough time before Christmas to make 1 or 2 (or more).
To enter the competition just add your name to the list below and leave me a comment telling me your favourite thing about Christmas. The competition closes on Wed 1st October and the winner will be drawn at random on 2nd October.
Good luck! I'm off to check out what everyone else got up to for FNSI. You can see all the activity on Wendy's blog here.
Happy stitching,
Tracy

And I love what you got up to for FNSI too.....batiks *swoon* and yes, lucky I do have a big house...I'll have even more room when the teenage boy moves out at the end of the year!!! LOL that stitchery looks wonderful too...your own design???
Thanks Tracy....big sugary hugs :o)
Like you I just love Christmas. I love giving, finding a gift for my loved ones and watching with excitement as they open them. Being with family is so important, spreading festive love and remembering past Christmas Day's with love ones who are now gone.
Of course I also love the stitching/quilting world at Christmas to, secret santa swaps, ornie swaps gotta love them!
Thanks for the opportunity Tracy.
I LoVe Christmas too... in fact it takes me a whole week of unpacking over 32 boxes of decorations. BUT I just love that.
My family all spending time here...laughing... & loving the fact that we can all be together. Some families just don't have that.
I'm fortunate enough to have all my children (with the two of us)& now Grandies... still acting like kids looking forward to this wonderful holiday!
Thanks for a fantastic giveaway!
I can't name just one thing, so that probably disqualifies me from the competition , but I will say them anyway. Being with family, some of whom we only see at Christmas due to the distance. This is Christmas is REALLY special as my brother moved back to Australia two years ago, but due to a tragedy in his wife's family and the need to be with them, this will be the first Christmas Day together in about 13 years. He has two small children and it's will be wonderful to have some ''believers" in the house as our youngest is 16. Oh and the teeth thing I love about Christmas ....the food of course.
Thank you for the chance in your wonderful give a way. I love that I can get my Jim SHore ornaments out of the cupboard. Don't tell my family I put him first lol..
Hello Tracy,
I love Christmas because I get to spend time with my family and celebrate the real meaning of the day.

Good to hear from you Tracy. Love your jelly roll flimsy, great work. That book looks like a must have too! My favourite bit of Christmas is getting out all the lovely tree decorations I have collected over the last 40 years. So many memories of different times and places. Lovely to be with family too. xx
Hi Tracy - finally I'm getting to do some blog reading!
Lovely jelly roll sewing, it will be an awesome gift when it's finished.
I already have a copy of the book, so I'm not putting my name in...
Ilove that my family gets together at Christmas
Hi Tracy my favourite thing about xmas is that all the family get together and we have so much fun, thankyou for hosting this lovely giveaway.xx
It is so hard to pin it down to just "one" thing, so I'm breaking that rule :)
I LOVE: Christmas music especially religious themed.
I LOVE: Mom's Christmas cookies.
I LOVE: snow.
Oh, and I forgot to tell you how much I LOVE your flimsy. Blue is my favorite color and this is very inspiring :)
Hi Tracy. I love your mushroom stitchery. I love everything about Christmas. The decorating, making Christmas gifts and spending time with the family. Thanks for the lovely giveaway. Gail has the most gorgeous patterns.
I love Christmas, too! And I don't know anyone who doesn't love Gail Pan. What a great gift that would be. Thank you for making it possible to enter. dezertsuz @gmail.com
For those who have asked, although I would love to say the stitchery is my own design I'm afraid it isn't. It was designed by the very talented Sharlene Jones-Martin and is in one of my old magazines. The original project was done in shades of brown but I decided to inject some colour. Cheers, Tracy.
Great prize Trace, your a sweetie! xx
