Jelly Roll Quilt Update & Seeking Advice

Well, I'm on track to (hopefully) finish the quilt in time for the birthday party on Saturday. I finished the hibiscus quilting today and am pretty happy with it.

Now that I'm getting close to finishing the quilting I have started researching how to remove the residual yellow chalk from my hibiscus pattern. From what I have seen on the internet I am quite concerned that I may have significant trouble doing this.

Does anyone have any advice on the best and most effective way to remove yellow quilters chalk from fabric? Also, is there anything I should definitely not try for fear of ruining the quilt?

Thanks in advance for any help you can give me.

Cheers,
Tracy

I have not had any luck removing it easily so I have had to wash the quilt...

Oh Tracy I wish I could help, but I have no clue... could you contact someone from your quilting group? or perhaps a specialist quilt shop like Carols of Midland?
I hope it comes good for you, you've done a sterling job of the quilting, well done x

Your quilting is looking fantastic Tracy. Sorry I can't help with the chalk as I have never used it. I do use a blue marker pen though and just put the finished quilt into the washer on a rinse and spin cycle which gets rid of the blue and helps to puff up the qulting. xx

Your quilting looks fantastic. Job well done!
Is the chalk the sort you also get for dressmaking? I think that needs to be washed to remove it.

Quilting looks good, Tracey. Sorry, I think you need to wash the chalk out. I never use anything other than pencil or white chalk to mark a quilt, after a blue wash out pen returned months later as a brown stain, even though I'd followed instructions to the letter. We don't know what the chemicals in all these markers will do in the long run. Especially avoid the horrible friction pens which are not intended for fabric!
