FNWF Results

So, I don't know about you but I hate ironing. Yet when it comes to quilting and making sure my fabrics are properly prepped for cutting I will iron for hours.

For FNWF I spent 2.5 hours ironing fabrics for Ashleigh's 18th birthday quilt (which is well overdue!). Then I spent another couple of hours ironing last night as well.

I have also managed to cut most of the fabrics over the weekend. The feature fabric in the background had to be fussy cut to get 12 x 10.5" squares which was a bit tricky as it was an asymmetrical border print, not an all-over print. I'm happy with the results though.

Fussy cutting the 10.5" feature squares

I desperately want to cut the final fabric, which will be the middle border, but since tomorrow is a work day it's unlikely I'll get back to it soon.

Speaking of work, I really should get some sleep. If you would like to see what everyone else got up to for FNFW you can visit Cheryll's website here.

Happy stitching!

Cheers,
Tracy

I look forward to watching those beautiful fabrics transform.
Don't you dislike the way work gets in the way of our sewing :)

I don't like ironing either. Those fabrics will make a gorgeous quilt.

It will be worth it though. Preparation gives good results...

Tracy those fabrics are gorgeous, I can't wait to see what the quilt looks like!
I'm with you on the ironing issue - I only do mr15s school shirts & pants - mrHS irons his own work clothes , they're cotton drill & takes about 15 mins to do ONE shirt!! Bugger that, he can do it while watching telly
