FNSI

Well, it doesn't look like much but this is what I did for Friday Night Sew-In. It will eventually be a cute little stitchery wall hanging featuring frogs.

Thanks very much to Wendy for hosting this get-together. If you want to see what everyone else has been up to you can find the links here.

Cheers,

Community Quilts BOM

I was thrilled last month to be able to start participating again in the WAQA Community Quilts BOM program. Unfortunately I wasn't able to stay for the full sewing day in January but I was able to pick up the materials and instructions for the January block.

With February's sewing day looming tomorrow I managed to squeeze in enough stitching time today to create the 2 Windmill blocks to hand in. They were easy to do and I was able to alternate the strips so I had a red windmill on one block and a green one on the other.

Can't wait to see what the finished quilt will look like later in the year. If you would like to join in with the community quilts program you can find out more about it on the WAQA website at http://waquilters.com/.

Happy stitching,
Tracy xx

A Wonderful Break

Wow. I have just returned from our first family holiday for 2014. We took the kids to Rottnest Island for a week and it was absolute bliss! For those of you who have not been to Perth yet, Rottnest (fondly known as Rotto) is an island 20km off the coast - a quick 45 minute trip by ferry.

This is the first time we have had an extended visit. We booked a self-contained unit on Longreach Bay. This was the view from our balcony.

Day time

Evening

It was so lovely being able to just sit on the balcony and watch the movement of the ocean and the boats coming & going. We had some wonderful, quality family time. I also managed to read 2 books, half a dozen magazines, swim, get a tan and finish 1 of the stitching items I took with me.

This is the first instalment in Val Laird's free block of the month pattern, 'Shining Like the Dawn', which she is offering on her blog. It was a fun, fairly quick little stitchery.

I'd love to hear about your favourite holiday place and/or project completed on a holiday. If you'd like to share please leave me a comment.

Have a wonderful week with plenty of stitching!

Cheers,
Tracy
